micah handlogten injury update is that Gators’ Micah Handlogten stretchered off during SEC final Florida Gators center Micah Handlogten was taken off the court with an apparent severe ankle injury during the SEC tournament final against Auburn on Sunday.
Handlogten, a 7-foot-1 sophomore, was going up for an offensive rebound and came down hard on his leg and crumpled to the court in pain with 17:46 remaining in the first half.
Play resumed until Auburn scored on the other end for a 7-2 lead with 17:39 left.A stretcher was brought out and his leg was stabilized before he was wheeled off.
His parents came out of the stands, and Florida coach Todd Golden and the Gators’ players came over to support Handlogten before he was wheeled off.

ESPN commentator Marty Smith noted there was blood around Handlogten’s ankle, which was encased in an air cast.
Smith later updated that the injury was confirmed to be a lower leg injury and that Handlogten was being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
