The Josh Hutcherson “Whistle” Edit refers to a 2014 fancam edit on YouTube that uses the song “Whistle” by Joel Merry (a cover of the original “Whistle” by Flo Rida) and centers on actor Josh Hutcherson (known for The Hunger Games and the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.
The objectively horny and thirsty edit gained notoriety in the late 2010s, peaking in popularity in late 2023, directly following the release of the FNaF movie.
The TikTok trend involved playing the edit on strange devices or revealing it as hidden in many objects such as in Halloween candy. The trend was similar to memes about the Josh Hutcherson Chair Scene.
On October 12th, 2014, YouTuber[2] MetroGirlzStation posted a video called “Josh Hutcherson || Whistle” which was a similar fan-made edit of actor Josh Hutcherson (known at the time for his role as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games franchise) set to the song “Whistle” by Joel Merry (a cover of the original “Whistle” by Flo Rida). Over nine years, the video gained roughly 160,500 views and 14,000 likes (shown below). In the 2020s, the video gained meme attention as opposed to its precursor.
