The Mountaineers lost Aubrey Burks and Trey Lathan who both had to be carted off. Burks was dealing with an upper body inj**ury, while Lathan was dealing with a leg inj**ury.
Both players will stay in Fort Worth tonight, with Burks staying for observation while Lathan will have surgery on a lower leg injury, which likely ends his season.
Midway through the second quarter of Saturday night’s game at TCU, West Virginia safety Aubrey Burks was carted off the field after being involved in a tackle in punt coverage.
The game was delayed for nearly ten minutes as trainers attended to Burks. The injury is unknown at this time.

Burks entered the season as one of the top defensive backs in the Big 12 and has played as such through the first four games of the season.
Entering the night, Burks recorded 13 tackles, three tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one interception.
West Virginia is already without defensive backs Montre Miller and Keyshawn Cobb who suffered season-ending injuries earlier this season.
